Welcome to Teaching Commons, a virtual resource and gathering space for connecting anyone with teaching responsibilities at the University of North Texas. Our mission is to build and sustain a culture of teaching excellence across the university that is interdisciplinary, promotes teaching as scholarship, and encourages innovative pedagogical practice.

On our site, you can find:

• Teaching Essentials- a repository for curated and new content on time-tested and new developments in teaching and learning scholarship
• Teaching Commons podcast- an episodic podcast with featured faculty and guests. 
• Faculty Forum- a virtual communal space where UNT instructors can reach across disciplines to share teaching ideas and resources (UNT login required)

Currently, we have over 60 articles and a podcast covering a range of teaching and learning topics, including writing student learning outcomes, applying backward course design to a course, engaging students in collaborative learning and teamwork, and many more. You can use the search feature at the top right hand corner of the site. We have also organized content across six areas, called Teaching Essentials, to further help with locating content relevant to specific interests and needs. Finally, you will find tags attached to each of our articles and podcasts to further help you locate relevant material.

We are also excited to launch a podcast where we interview and feature UNT staff, faculty, and students. Our inaugural podcast features UNT faculty, Judi Bradetich and Dr. Jessica Craig, who talk about the innovative collaborative learning model, team-based learning. We will continue to add and expand upon our current content, which will be announced via this page. As we develop content, we encourage you to register for the Faculty Forum where you can make requests for the site, share resources, and engage with other UNT instructors about teaching.
