We are excited to announce the newest addition to the website! Featured Faculty is a section of our site that celebrates UNT faculty. Here we will feature UNT instructors who are dedicated to their teaching practice and passionate about sharing their knowledge and experience with others. Currently, you will find the first in our Teaching Excellence Spotlight, a cyclical feature that features UNT instructors who have been nominated by their peers and/or students. To nominate someone, or yourself, click here. Nominations are open to anyone with teaching responsibilities at the university, including graduate students and adjunct faculty.

To kick off the series, we have selected two UNT instructors, Gayle Prybutok and Kelly Donahue-Wallace. Gayle is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation and Health Services and Kelly is a Professor in the Art History Department. We asked these two innovative teacher-scholars to share their tips and ideas for engaging and motivating students in online environments.

We have also added content to the Classroom Teaching - Teaching Essential. This Teaching Essential will largely focus on face-to-face courses and interactions with students, though much of this information will be transferable to online courses, as well. Our earliest content features a guide for facilitating classroom discussions and quick ideas for promoting interactivity in the classroom. We also talk about instructor vs. student roles in the classroom. We will be adding more content – particularly on developing syllabi and conducting the first day of class in preparation for the beginning of the Spring 2018 semester, so be on the look out!
